Control? Surrender? Both/&!

Control? Surrender? Both/&!

It’s Tuesday, October 29, & Moon is in Virgo, in the Starspace called Hasta. Virgo creates an environment of perfectionism, with our critical faculties being on high alert to see all that’s wrong so we can control the wrongness, correct it. As an editor, having my Moon in Virgo has served me well. It has given me laser-like vision (I used to be called “eagle eye”!) to spotlight syntax, grammar & logic that were as off as spoiled milk, to see typos where no one else did. In publishing, as in life, there’s a time when you have to send the magazine article or book to bed, let it go, know that you’ve done your best, accept that perfection is an elusive goal, that we can’t control everything, & surrender to that reality.

Hasta means “hand,” as in an open hand not a closed fist. It is ruled by Savitur, an aspect of the Sun, whose rays of wisdom & healing flow through us & out through our hands. This asterism brings a message about generously & graciously sharing our wisdom & healing, not greedily holding onto it, to give at least as much as we receive, if not more than.

It’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waning moon, which removes all shortcomings & increases all auspiciousness. The dovetailing with Mars’ day (not to mention, but I will, the combo of mars’ day with Hasta) will also boost the juiciness of the day—so, yay!

Tuesday is ruled by Mars, who gives us the courage to fight our inner enemies, do our work, lest we ignorantly turn others into enemies, blame them.

“When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.”—African proverb

It’s a common theme in politics (sorry to go there, but we are in the thick of it!) to, rather than do the inner work to come up with a game plan, a platform with substance & integrity, to just turn the other into the enemy. From a global perspective it’s where, say, one country refuses to acknowledge & take responsibility for its role in a conflict, demonizes other countries (or a previous administration). This is Mars at his most cowardly, at his weakest, least intelligent, at his most self-suffering. with mars’ placement for the next many months it’s important for us to courageously do our work, take personal responsibility so we can see through the spin.

And that’s your daily bliss! Which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss
