Full Moon Reflections – Mind Your Mind—It, too, Will Be Eclipsed

It’s Tuesday, September 17, & we have a Full Moon & eclipse in Pisces, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Purvabhadra, & this Full Moon is called a SuperMoon, b/c it will be closer to the earth than usual & will appear to be supersized, so it’s literally a big day! A Full Moon means Sun is opposite shining fully on it. In this case Sun is in Virgo. This Eclipse is Lunar & partial, meaning the earth is passing between Sun & Moon but not completely blocking its light. The eclipse show begins about 6 p.m. MDT & ends about 10:45 p.m. & will be visible to half the world, altho as with all eclipses, it’s best not to watch, but to feel, be in the energy, be quiet & meditate.

Purvabhadra bridges Aquarius & Pisces, the mortal & immortal. It is the lightning flash of “aha!” about the true nature of reality, about our true nature, about being one with all that is, the ultimate Piscean experience of being the drop in the ocean & the ocean in the drop, as Rumi has put it.

This asterism is fierce & shocking, like a lightning bolt, can jolt us into being impulsive, reactive, into violence (which see the latest attempted assassination of trump). Eclipses are also intense, can be explosive, shocking in that they bring what’s been hidden into the light. Don’t be surprised if the media or government or your friends, partners or family members share, perhaps inadvertently, long-held secrets.

When Moon is eclipsed so is our mind, so we may not be thinking clearly, may be fixated on our fears or own POV to the exclusion of others’. Eclipses bring our shadow out to play, so we may have a tendency toward negative thoughts. It’s important to avoid confrontation (especially b/c this is Mars’ day!), to get grounded in our bodies, out of our heads. To let go of rigidity & criticism & control of others (Virgo) & be open, receptive, inclusive, able to surrender (Pisces).

The eclipse occurs at about 1 degree Pisces—if you have planets within a degree of that, this will bring superpotent lessons until the next full moon, but whichever house Pisces represents for all of us is where our attention & intention is being drawn.

The Full Moon invites us to finish the work we started with the New Moon, to ride that wave of momentum to its end. What does that mean for you? What do you still have left to do?

And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
