“Devoted Surrender”
November 23rd, 2022
The Moon and Sun are coming together in sidereal Scorpio on Wednesday, November 23rd, at 12:57 pm PDT, and they are joined a tightly conjunct Venus and Mercury, all in the nakshatra of Anuradha, or “After Radha”. Anuradha is ruled by Mitra, the god of friendship and is inherently connected to the goddess Radha, the devoted one. The symbol is a lotus flower. That which is growing from the mud and is yet the symbol of perfection and completion.
The Moon is just moving past its point of debility here, where we have the hardest time managing our emotions. Anuradha is like a breath of fresh air, where we remember it is not all about us. If we can call ourselves out of the murky waters where we drown in our own emotions, perhaps we can set our sights like a flower towards the Sun. As this is the dark Moon and therefore the time when our energy is the lowest, we might find that it is through meditation and solitude through which we are able to rise above the mud. After a month of over-giving our energy to others, it is certainly worth a look at where and what we choose to do with our time, and whether or not it is a distraction from facing our deepest fears, or whether it is actually serving us. The Sun is shining in the shadows, showing us what is real and what is imagined, and helping us to crawl out of the corners and into the light.
With Mars, Retrograde right across the way from his own sign in Taurus, and Jupiter also still Retrograde, sending his one-way wisdom from Pisces, the question looms, “would you rather be comfortable or truly happy?” A good many will choose comfort over the unknown, but all of us will be blessed with the inner knowing of what’s really right and true.
