The Light at the End of the Tunnel

It’s Tuesday, October 8, & Moon is in Scorpio in the starspace or Nakshatra called Jyeshtha. While Scorpio is where our most irrational fears & paranoias, insecurities & shame live, it is ruled by Mars, who gives us the courage to face those fears & paranoias, our insecurities & shame, who knows that the only way through is through, that even tho we may feel as if the life is being squeezed out of us, there is light at the end of our tunnel, that the cold, fresh air of reality will slap us awake, chase away our bad dreams.

“Picture how the vaginal canal squeezes the water out of a baby’s lungs—it’s the shock of this squeezing & the sudden cold air that makes the baby cry out & take their first breath!”—Miranda July, “All Fours”

Jyeshtha means “eldest” or “chief most” & is ruled by Indra, who was the chief, the king, of the gods. This asterism invites us to reach the highest heights, the pinnacle of achievement, & to use that power to take responsibility for others, be on the lookout for danger, threats to their well-being. Alas, with great power comes the possibility to abuse that power, get drunk on it, lord it over others. But that’s not who we are, right?

It’s the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in making our dreams reality. It prevents us from getting mired in the quicksand of perfectionism by giving us the confidence to deal with whatever arises during the manifestation process.

Tuesday, like Scorpio, is ruled by Mars, who gives us the courage to take righteous action, fight the good fight, defend those who can’t defend themselves. If you have mars in your ascendant, it can make you indefatigable, like Winston Churchill, who said, “politics are almost as exciting as war, & quite as dangerous. In war you can only be killed once, but in politics many times.”

Bonus Track: Moon moves from sScorpio into sagittarius around 4:30 p.m. MDT without support from a nakshatra (asterism, starspace)—it’s a badass leap over an abyss, not an easy-peasy cakewalk. Since Moon is our consciousness, we, too, may feel the lack of support. It’s the perfect time to grab a cup of tea or go for a walk & clear our head.

And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
