Untie the Knots That Bind

It’s Thursday, October 17, & Moon is just barely in Aries, just barely in the starspace or Nakshatra called Ashwini, which is where, as I write, Moon just maxed out its fullness. This just-barely-there-ness is where Pisces meets Aries & planets have to make the crossing from one sign to the next without support, without a starry net, leap blindly; for where Pisces ends so does Revati & where Aries begins so does Ashwini. This abyss between water signs & fire signs is where we get to untie karmic knots, where we get triggered by what remains unresolved. as my lama used to say, if you’re still thinking about it, it’s unresolved. I know!
Aries vibrates with the frequency of making a fresh start, of rebirth & renewal & Ashwini brings healing energy. But/& Pisces is dreamland & we are still in that fugue state between waking & sleeping, are still rubbing our eyes & getting our bearings. We are not quite ready to start our engines—& shouldn’t start them until we make sure we are fully fueled so we don’t get stranded somewhere without cell service.
Full Moon in Aries means sun is opposite in Libra, & guess what? Sun has barely landed there too, another good reason not to rush. Aries is the sign of our individuality, Libra of others. This axis has us seesawing between “me” & “thee,” trying to find balance, trying to figure out how to show up in relationship without compromising our core needs or taking others for granted.
Libra is Sun’s sign of debilitation, encouraging us to be humble AF, which doesn’t mean being doormats.
One mo’ thing: the Hindu festival called Navaratri just ended, the grand finale celebrating Rama’s victory over the demon Ravanna, light vanquishing darkness. Ravanna had ten heads, which are connected to our sense organs. Ashwini is also connected to our sense organs & to our ability to wrest control over them, lest they exert demonic influence over us.
So here’s our Moon work, our self-inquiry, for the waning lunar cycle: what is triggering me? How is, for example, food or sex or music leading me astray, overstimulating me into distraction? What needs to go so I can focus, be my most authentic, most badass self & show up authentically for myself & the ones I love?
And that’s your daily bliss! Which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
