We are the World

It’s Monday, October 14, & Moon is in Aquarius, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Shatabhishak until about 1 p.m. MDT, then Purvabhadra. Aquarius vibrates with the frequency of our humanitarianism. It’s where we turn away from our own problems & life issues & toward those of the world, where we want to do something to improve the world, decrease suffering, whether in our community, our country or the entire planet, which might start by considering that, as Einstein revealed, space is curved: our thoughts, words & deeds come back to us. So whatever we do selflessly for others has a beneficial effect on us. it’s called enlightened self-interest, & it’s a win-win!

“Think lightly of yourself & deeply of the world.”—Miyamoto Musashi

Shatabhishak is the star of healing. b/c the Sanskrit language can be inscrutable, sometimes, I think, deliberately so, to make us ponder, dive within to extract meaning, “Shatabhishak” can mean either/both “100 doctors/medicines” &/or “100 poisons.” It invites us to think outside the box, pursue all avenues, all modalities to find the cure for what ails us/others, to be, like investigative journalists, intrepid, curious & skeptical, uncover hidden resources/truths. purvabhadra is the lightning flash of “aha!” that likewise reveals what’s hidden &, in this case, destroys our illusions of reality as a result. Sorry!

It’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waxing Moon, which is said to be the most pleasant & conflict-free lunar phase (yay!). It gives us clarity of purpose & the confidence to pursue our purpose, our vision, which, if done so with humility, will yield wealth, whether material-, spiritual- or wisdom-wise.

Monday is ruled by Moon, planet of, among other things, compassion. “compassion” comes from the latin “com” (with, together) + “pati” (to bear, suffer). In case you need a reminder, it’s the (quoting merriam-webster) “deep feeling for & understanding of misery or suffering & the concomitant desire to promote its alleviation.” Monday is always a good day to tap into our own experience of pain for the benefit of others, to reach out & touch someone.

“the greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”—Coretta Scott King

Bonus track: the combo of Shatabhishak + twelfth tithi + Moon drips with the nectar of accomplishment, so do imbibe that cosmic juice to get ‘er done!

And that’s your daily bliss! Which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
